Day 3: Saturday with Evan
Craig, Evan, and Mom came over this morning for a day at the fair. Marit and Sue were supposed to come over, but Marit got sick on the way over. I attribute this to her being soooo anxious about all the glories of the fair, that she just couldn't handle the excitement. One could argue that a one-year-old doesn't rationalize like that. But, I would counter, this is MY NIECE we're talking about, so that certainly has to factor in somewhere. Anyway, Sue had to stay back at home and take care of her. It was not quite as we had planned, but we managed to make lemonade nonetheless.
Most of today's pictures are of Evan. I'm not doing much with captioning today because... we'll, because most of my captions make fun of people. You don't think I do that to my own nephew, do you?
Oh, and here's one general observation. Exhibit A) the border collie. This agile creature is capable of herding hundreds of sheep across miles of treacherous terrain. Exhibit B) my family. Take three grown adults and we have a helluva time keeping one 3 1/2 year kid moving in a straight line. Note to self: Get Craig a border collie for Christmas...

Craig and Evan. Craig has a geeky T-shirt on--something about debugging software...

Just like they feed the animals...

I'm probably sick, but I found this amusing. Here's a big sign of a ferocious bobcat, and right beneath it is a very dead-looking stuffed bunny rabbit. One tough animal indeed.

A couple of pictures of the threshing machine.

As expected, it was only a matter of time before Evan decided that looking at all of the goofy Minnesotans 'hurt his eyes'. So, he did what any sensible 4 year old would do...

AFLAC!!!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream...
